Cheryl Knapp got her start in bulldogs in 1989 with My Little Red Rose Bud, CDX, a natural entertainer who began opening and closing doors and riding Mrs. Knapp’s sons’ rocking horse and skateboards as a precocious pup.

After capturing “Rosie’s” antics on video, Mrs. Knapp won second place on ABC - TV’s “America’s Funniest People” show, the first of a number of notable awards and national television appearances with her bulldogs, including a first prize in Purina’s Stupid Dog Trick national video contest by Rosie at age 11.

Learning the exercises and training on her own, without benefit of classes or private instruction, Mrs. Knapp began showing in obedience in 1993, earning Rosie’s Companion Dog and Companion Dog Excellent titles with outstanding scores and placements that made Rosie the top - ranked obedience bulldog that year.

Another of Mrs. Knapp’s obedience bulldogs, Beefeater’s Amazin’ Grace of SBK, UDX, was the breed’s first Utility Dog Excellent, an achievement that helped earn “Gracie” a place in the Bulldog Club of America’s Obedience Hall of Fame.

More recently, her home - bred SittingBullies Glad Tidings, CD, RE, called “Gabe,” rode Rosie’s rocking horse and skateboarded his way to top honors for Nick at Nite’s 2008 Worldwide Fido Awards, besting 3,000 competitors for the prize.

In addition to mastering the full repertoire of trademark SittingBullies tricks, Gabe is an outstanding obedience and performance dog. After qualifying for his first Rally Novice leg in 2006, at six months of age, Gabe earned the RN title at seven and a half months and his Companion Dog obedience title before his first birthday, with many placements in all - breed competition. Gabe also has Rally Advanced and Rally Excellent titles.

Now at work on his CDX title, Mrs. Knapp will also be showing Gabe in conformation and continuing to promote his show business career, with sights set on possible titles in tracking, agility and carting.

Mrs. Knapp is currently working on the final leg of a Utility Dog title for Gracie’s grandniece, Beefeater’s Ode To Joy of SBK, CDX, RE, known as “Chubbs,” and showing Gabe’s dam, Beautibully SittingBullies Pip, CD, RE, in rally and obedience.

A talented costume designer, photographer and graphic designer, Mrs. Knapp offers a line of bulldog - themed accessories, clothing and stationery through an online store.
