Since training and showing her first obedience bulldog, Nix’s Cameo White Fang, CD, CDX, born in 1964, Betty Fisher has bred, trained and shown twelve generations of outstanding performance bulldogs from her renowned White Fang line, earning dozens of titles and awards in obedience, rally, agility and carting. Through the years, she has bred her bulldogs primarily to produce new obedience training candidates of her own and has kept twelve of her last sixteen puppies.
Mrs. Fisher, who lives in California, was instrumental in planning the first bulldog obedience trial in the United States, held at The Bulldog Club of Northern California’s 1970 specialty show, and was a co - founder of the San Diego Bulldog Club Drill Team, staging popular exhibitions of obedience - trained bulldogs from 1974 to 1977.
A member of the Bulldog Club of America since 1966, Mrs. Fisher writes a performance column for the BCA’s quarterly magazine, The Bulldogger, and is co - author of two books, So Your Dog’s Not Lassie: Tips for Training Independent Dogs and Difficult Breeds, published in 1998, and Caninestein: Unleashing the Genius in Your Dog, published in 1997.
Mrs. Fisher has taught all - breed dog training classes for many years and is active in the Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network, fostering, evaluating and rehabilitating rescued dogs. She continues to breed the occasional litter, and trains and competes regularly in obedience and performance events.
